Do It Yourself Faux Tin Tile
07/19/2016
Creating your very own faux tin tile is a perfect way to add some art to a room. You can pick a stencil that you like and using these Fusion Mineral Paints have your very own faux tin tile!
What you need
- blank white canvas
- stencil
- medium sized paintbrush
- small paint brush
- Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black
- Fusion Smooth Embossing Paste Pearl
- Fusion Matthew Mead Studio Metallics in Brushed Steel
- palette knife
- 2 pieces of tape (for stencil)
How To Make
- Paint the canvas with the Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black with one or two coats. Let dry.
- Place the stencil over the dried canvas and use the two pieces of tape to stick down.
- Using a palette knife apply the Pearl Embossing Paste. It is like spreading frosting on a cake! Feel free to smooth it out or leave it bumpy. Make sure not to press too hard or there will be a bleed around the edges.
- Remove stencil immediately, and let dry for 24 hours or overnight.
- Leave the stencil as is or add some embellishments. We used a dry brush and added a tiny bit of paint and dragged over the surface to create a faux tin tile look.
