At Home With…Chris Palmer
You have seen him on morning TV with “how-to” tips, on stage at shows produced by Toronto Home Shows and he has been featured in various magazines, but how well do you know Chris Palmer?
We had the opportunity to sit down with the professional industrial designer turned carpenter and contractor for a few minutes to get to know him better.
Toronto Home Shows:
Where was the first place you moved to that you called home?
Chris Palmer:
A raised bungalow in North Oshawa, not far from my childhood stomping grounds. It was a great neighbourhood and the price was perfect, the house was a newer build with zero upgrades done. It was a blank canvas for me.
THS:
Is there one piece in your home that you will take with you wherever you go?
CP:
There are two. My children’s dressers that I crafted. Also a bench I built for my wedding that all our guests signed.
THS:
How would you describe your decor style?
CP:
Classic and rustic clash! I love decorative moldings, but I’m a huge fan of old beams and distressed floors too.
THS:
What’s your favourite spot in your home now?
CP:
I’m in love with my new home’s sunroom. It’s a panoramic view of nature!
