Bye Bye Bed Bugs!
They could be living in your walls. They could even be sleeping in your bed right now. They are bed bugs!
If you have bed bugs, sleeping on the sofa tonight will not help the situation. In fact spending the night in another room could make things worse by spreading the bugs.
According to Danforth Pape Home Hardware Dealer Owner Malcolm Firkser, the first thing to do is to make sure that you are actually dealing with bed bugs. Once that’s confirmed, there are ways to get rid of the insects.
Be aware, bed bugs love to travel. They can be lurking at the theatre, library and even on public transportation. Once you get home, the bugs can end up in your hallway closet and in your shoes by the front door. Malcolm recommends taking a flash light and carefully checking the corners of your coat closet and your shoes.
As for your clothes, Malcolm says there’s no need to throw them out. Put them in the dryer on high heat for at least an hour.
